Creating Futures: Clarendon’s Regional and Rural Scholarships
Levi, Sienna, Billie and Aiden
The Clarendon community is committed to prioritising opportunities for students and families from regional and rural Victoria to experience a Clarendon education.
For over 160 years, regional and rural students have experienced a Clarendon education, embracing opportunities within the school to pursue their passions, develop leadership skills and carry forward the values of effort and community in their lives after school.
It is a community where students are empowered to share their own stories, encouraged to be themselves and supported by staff and their families to take a leading role in shaping their future. Year 9 student from Dimboola, Billie Ward, took a proactive role in her decision to apply for a Regional and Rural Scholarship at Clarendon.
“For me personally, I chose to come to Clarendon and led the whole process,” said Billie. “I love being a boarder and how welcoming everyone is. I also enjoy taking part in all the sport options available.”
Clarendon’s Regional and Rural Scholarships enable the school to continue providing these opportunities for current and future students. With the support of the Clarendon community, these scholarships ensure that deserving regional and rural families, who may not otherwise have the opportunity, can become valued members of the Clarendon community.
Year 9 student from Hamilton, Aiden Mhasho, joined Clarendon’s boarding house this year. He has embraced the wide variety of subjects on offer, including Agriculture and Horticulture, and has made the most of sporting opportunities both within the school and in the Ballarat community.
“My favourite thing about being a student at Clarendon is being a boarder and the diversity of subjects to choose from,” said Aiden. “I’m really grateful for the opportunities here at Clarendon.”
Every donation to the Regional and Rural Scholarships Fund helps more families experience everything that school life at Clarendon entails.
“Together, we can empower the next generation of leaders, professionals and change makers from regional and rural communities,” said Chair of the Board, Mark Patterson. “Join us in creating futures.”
