Congratulations to our Principal, David Shepherd OAM, OAM.
David Shepherd OAM is recognised in yesterday’s Australia Day honours list with the Order of Australian Medal for services to secondary education.
Our Clarendon community is exceptionally proud of David’s recognition and honour. In what has been an extraordinary 40-year career, the Order of Australia Medal acknowledges his commitment to secondary education and particularly his achievements at Ballarat Clarendon College as Principal over 26 years.
Driven by his belief in young people, with enormous energy and a great sense of fun, David inspires and encourages others and is a worthy recipient of this honour. As an educational leader, he is committed to Clarendon’s focus believing that a school must ensure that all students can ultimately choose their heart’s desire when they leave school as outward-looking citizens and strong community contributors. With that very clear focus, David ensures that every aspect of school life is aligned towards that goal. David’s commitment to the belief that every child can learn, his focus on the progress of every student and his embrace of the power of community and partnerships have ensured that Ballarat Clarendon College is recognised as an outstanding school.
Congratulations, David.
