These are some of the many projects our generous donors have supported.
Fitness Centre & Rowing Tank
The Fitness Centre includes a new infinity pool, refurbished gymnasium, exercise pavilion, changing rooms, spin room and multi-purpose room. The Centre also includes a state-of-the-art rowing tank, the first of its kind in Australia!
King Island – Grassy Campus
Our campus on King Island continues to provide an opportunity for our students to learn to live in close proximity with others, and the importance of caring for our community and environment, both on local and global scales. Each year improvements are made to the campus environment, to enhance each student’s experience.
Some of the monies funded by the Annual Giving Program have helped to upgrade the unique surf program Grassy provides, including purchasing 20 new surfboards, 45 wetsuits and facilities for the safe storage and transportation of surfing equipment.
Donations to the Grassy Campus project helped the school protect and grow its investment in this unique program, for the benefit of all students, current and future.
Donations towards the Library Fund allowed expansion of the collection of contemporary books in the Darrell J Fraser Library. This included books in the areas of art, design, architecture, environmental issues, migration, Australian politics, sport and travel. Additionally, donations helped purchase literary journals and magazines. Books were purchased in print, audio and electronic formats.
Literacy Program – Mair St Campus
Every Ballarat Clarendon College Junior School student is learning to be an independent, confident and discerning reader. This occurs under supervision and with the support of classroom teachers who provide guided engagement with quality home-reading texts. Students select from a variety of genre, authors and topics, with texts catering to a range of ability levels.
To facilitate the expansion of the Literacy Program for each of our 12 class groups, the Annual Giving Program helped provide 50 new titles per classroom.
