The Girls Boarding House hosted a very successful Mother/Daughter weekend last week.
Mums from all over the state, and a couple from over the border, ventured to Ballarat on a cold autumn night to enjoy coffee and cake in Café College and a chance to meet the other Mums.
Mums took over their daughters’ beds for the night and got to experience a typical night in the GBH.
Lines for the showers on a Saturday morning is not a common occurrence, but everyone managed and we headed to Melbourne for a day of shopping, shows and sightseeing.
This weekend always gives our girls a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with their mums and a chance to spend a little of their hard earned cash. Presentation Ball dresses were tried on and photos shared to make sure the girls did not end up buying the same one.
Meeting up in Lygon Street later that evening for dinner – over 80 people – girls, their mums, sisters and even one dad, enjoyed a great meal and a chance to catch up on the day’s activities.
It is great that Mums can now put faces to the names their daughters talk about each day and that Mums can also establish their own support network for the year ahead.
