Middle School Leadership

When reflecting on what leadership means in the Middle School, it is often worth reflecting on what leadership is not. Leadership is not a glossy certificate, a shiny badge, a blazer pocket embroidery or a polished speech delivered at a formal occasion. It is also not simply a ‘position of responsibility’; it is much more than a title by which you can define yourself. Whilst all of these factors are associated with leadership, and we do not diminish them, we have greater aspirations for our students.

Senior School Academic Honours and Leadership Assembly

At the beginning of each academic, a memorable Senior School Assembly is held to recognise the high achieving students from the previous year and to formally present the current student leadership team. This year that Assembly was held on Friday 10 February and the Sewell Pavilion was bursting with excitement and pride. For the Class of 2016, University beckoned – the anticipation of O-Week and first classes not all that far away. For our senior school students, and particularly those who take on leadership responsibilities in 2017, their work has commenced and their pathways are pretty well mapped.

Tahlia Stanton presented with Elise Hurst Art Award

Tahlia Stanton (Year 11) was recently awarded the ‘Elise Hurst Art Award’ as a part of the Young Australian Art & Writer’s Award for 2016. These awards celebrate the artistic and literary talents of children and support the Children’s Charity Network.
