Testimonials

Right from our first contact with staff and boarders at an open day for Ballarat and Clarendon College, we felt confident and relaxed that this was the place for our daughter Elle to further her secondary school education.

After three happy and successful years for our daughter in the boarding house at BCC our first impressions have been well and truly justified. The care shown by everyone, from the Heads of Boarding through to the Tutors and Medical staff at the school has meant Elle has been in a wonderful and safe environment that has seen her mature into a confident young woman ready for life at university and beyond.

The boarding staff have not only been teachers to her but have also been excellent mentors, role models and friends that she will remember for many years to come.

One of the other reasons we were keen for Elle to be a boarder was for her to experience life with fellow boarding students. She has made many life long friends who have been not only "great mates" but also provided tremendous personal support, a real sisterhood. The boarders at BCC are often referred to as, "the heart of the school" and it has been very rewarding to see how many of them get involved in the extra-curricular activities on offer. Elle has participated in many varied activities from school musicals and choir to football and cricket. Fund raising concerts for several charities and even helping farmers who were victims of bush fires. We are sure that it was the encouragement and participation of her fellow boarders that helped her have the confidence to have a go at these activities.

From an academic perspective the guidance of senior staff members given to Elle has been invaluable for achieving her future goals in tertiary study.
All her teachers have been enthusiastic and have instilled in her a positive work ethic that has brought strong outcomes and results in all study areas.

Elle's time at Ballarat and Clarendon College has culminated in her being awarded the honour of school captain in 2008. This achievement has been very challenging but also very rewarding for her and we are sure that reaching this position is a result of the care and sound advise given to her by staff at the college.

As Elle leaves BCC we now have our son Nick commencing year 10 in 2009. He is looking forward to the challenges of the varied curriculum at College and the experience of boarding life. As parents we have confidence that he will be well cared for at Ballarat and Clarendon College.
