Frances Jackson

Frances is at present in Townsville completing a five-month missionary course with Youth With A Mission, having deferred her Bachelor of Arts at the University
of Melbourne. She based her VCE selections – English, Australian History, Art, Japanese, Biology and Further Mathematics – on subjects she enjoyed.
“Do things that you enjoy and have an interest in – this applies to life in general and VCE,” she says. “I am interested in music, literature and art. Becoming involved in music groups during my school time provided a creative outlet, especially during my VCE year. I played in ensembles both within school and the broader community.”

Edwina Liubinas

Edwina has commenced a Bachelor of Medicine/ Surgery at the University of Adelaide. Upon completion, she hopes to work in sports medicine or general practice. With a VCE workload of English Language, Physical Education, Health and Human Development, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Accounting and Mathematical Methods, Edwina also maintained her participation in a range of sports, including rowing, netball and football. “I chose subjects which I thought I would enjoy so that I was more motivated to complete the work required for them,” she explains. “I also tried to participate in a range of activities outside of school and work and made sure to maintain a social life.”

Cassandra Taylor

Cassandra is studying Medicine/Surgery at Monash University, having completed Further Mathematics, Physical Education, Mathematical Methods (CAS), English
Language, Chemistry and Health and Human Development during VCE.
“My ambition is to travel to rural areas both here and overseas to provide medical assistance,” she says. “Otherwise, to specialise in sports medicine. Both are quite different goals, but hopefully I have enough time to achieve both!”
A love of sport and keeping active, especially long distance running, were vital to her Year 12 success, as was surrounding herself with motivating people.
