Tahlia Stanton (Year 11) was recently awarded the ‘Elise Hurst Art Award’ as a part of the Young Australian Art & Writer’s Award for 2016. These awards celebrate the artistic and literary talents of children and support the Children’s Charity Network.

Design an Advertisement Competition

For the first time the Ballarat Courier conducted a Design an Ad Competition for Ballarat Schools. A number of Clarendon Visual Communications students submitted entries as part of their course.  Jasmine Fitzgerald, Year 10, won the secondary schools division with her design for camerahouse. Her successful effort yielded a prize of $700 and Clarendon received $1000 from the Fairfax Organisation.

2016 Football Draft

Ballarat Clarendon College has a long tradition of producing quality Australian Rules footballers. Percy Beames and Bob Davis are members of the Australian Football Hall of Fame, while John Birt and David Shaw, members of the College 1954 side that defeated St Patrick’s College for the first time in 50 years, progressed to illustrious careers at Essendon. In the last 15 years, James Walker (Freemantle) and Michael Jamison (Carlton) have been the longer serving of the dozen or more players drafted. Matt Dea (Essendon), Sebastian Ross (St. Kilda) and Darcy Tucker (Freemantle) are Old Collegians who continue to play in the Australian Football League.
